Camry Named 'Most American' Car by Cars.com

Toyota Camry is the "Most American" Car for the third consecutive year in Cars.Com's annual "American-Made Index," which ranks vehicles based on the percentage of their parts that are produced domestically, where they are assembled and how many are sold to U.S. buyers.

In addition to grabbing the top rank, Toyota captured two other spots in the top 10 - Sienna came in at No. 6 and Tundra at No. 9. General Motors also had three vehicles on the list. Honda held two spots in the top 10, while Ford and Chrysler each held one.

"Despite the disaster in Japan, and General Motors usurping Toyota as the world's largest automaker, we're not surprised to see the Camry in the number one position again," said Cars.com Editor in Chief Patrick Olsen.

"The Camry remains an incredibly popular vehicle, and higher total sales require a higher number of U.S. factory workers and a larger number of U.S.

suppliers - all of which contribute to Toyota's ranking."
